Cup Success For U12's

Congratulations to the U12 side who defeated Hatherleigh in the Graham Harris Cup Final last week.

The Graham Harris Cup Final was played at Instow on Sunday morning. This was the 19th year that this trophy has been competed for between clubs and schools in the North Devon area.

This year saw Bideford C.C. defeat Hatherleigh C.C. in the final. The youngsters, aged between 9 -12, produced some excellent cricket with the Bideford top order of Alex Hannam, Billy Blackburn and Declan Smale all making scores of over 20. This set the platform for a very competitive score of 137-2 in Bideford’s 20 overs. Despite an excellent opening partnership between Craig Penberthy and Adam Quick of 44, the Bideford total always looked too many for Hatherleigh to chase down and with some tight bowling by all of the Bideford bowlers this proved to be the case.
