Best
Cricketing Moment(s):
Difficult to pick favourites but a
hat trick on my debut for Surrey IIs
against Sussex was fantastic but
then ruined by rupturing ankle
ligaments during celebrations -
injured for 3 months. Then invited
onto Test Match special by Ralph
Deller to talk about it during the
tea interval of the Lords Test
match.
Being part of the first Minor
Counties side to beat first class
opposition(Derbyshire) by means of a
bowl out. Probably worth noting
that I was not trusted to hit the
unprotected stumps by our Captain so
did not actually get to bowl a
ball. I was in good company though
because Devon Malcolm was also not
trusted by Derbyshire.
I could describe many other
highlights of quite a long career
but overall the best memories of
cricket are the great friends I have
made and continue to make.
Worst
Cricketing Moment(s)/Funny Stories
Fielding for Surrey in front of the
pavilion at the Oval in the final of
the national U25 knockout trophy.
Middlesex required 6 of the last
over to win. Second ball was hit to
me at long off - straight to me -
not too hard - long barrier -
straight through me for 4.
Fortunately Middlesex then self
destructed with three runouts
chasing the last two runs for
victory and we won by one run.
Anything Else
Have
really enjoyed joining Bideford CC
and am delighted to be asked to
Captain the side for the 2009
season.
